Support » Fixing WordPress » Password protected post shows blank page

  • The password protected posts, after typing the password, shows a blank page, that in the url appears to be /wp-pass.php.
This happens browsing with Firefox, not with Explorer nor with Opera.

What’s the matter? Is anybody there who could suggest how to fix it?
    Thank guys…

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I’ve just been running both your suggestions: first I disactivated all plugins, then I switched to Twenty Eleven theme, but nothing changed.
I think the only solution will be to invite visitors not using Firefox. No other ideas.

I’ve never had such a problem on a password protected page on my sites and I use Firefox all of the time. You could try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress but it does sound more like a theme/plugin issue.

I thank you for answering so quickly!
Using Firefox the problem exists also applying Twenty Eleven theme too. On the contrary, with Explorer and Opera everything is going well, although in the blog I’m using a complex ensamble of theme and plugin (Gallery theme in association with WP PayPal Shopping Cart).

Have you tried using Firefox on another machine?. This could be a problem with your install of Firefox.

I’ll try and post the situation as soon as possible. Thanks for now.

I experienced this situation like this using a pretty basic WP 3.2.1 site and Chrome 14.0.835.202 m. I had a post that was password protected and I had not entered the password. I could see previous replies and there was a reply box so I tried composing a reply but I would just get a blank page. Once I supplied the password, I could reply without a problem.
