stats setting keeps dropping the API key

    Every few days the API key setting drops from one of the blogs I work on and am wondering what is up with that. (like it forgets what the key was) We get this notice on the dashboard: “WordPress.com Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or disable the plugin.” yet the key was entered fine (again) last week.

    How can we test, troubleshoot, and fix it so this won’t happen again?
