• Hi All,

My site stringloveguitar.com is behaving strangely.

On my computer, everything looks fine. On my girlfriend’s computer, however, some of the pages (primarily the Store page) only display an old version of the page (I updated that page last spring, and she still sees the old version when she visits the page on her computer).

Additionally, on that old Store page that she sees, the Nav Menu is also the old version of the Nav Menu from before last spring. And then, as I click around the site on her computer, the Nav Menu displays its current version on some pages and the outdated version on other pages.

Just now, I navigated directly to stringloveguitar.com/store and the old version of the page displayed. But after I clicked into the Store page from a different page on the site, it is now displaying the current updated version.

What’s going on? I have no idea where to start to figure out why this glitch might be happening. Anybody have any experience with this kind of thing?

Your help is very much appreciated.

  • are you running any caching plugins? If so, try flushing the cache.
You may also want to delete the cache/cookies on your girlfriend’s computer.

Hey–no, not running any caching plugins.

Just emptied the cache/cookies on her computer, and that didn’t resolve this issue…still seeing the old version of the nav menu and the Store page when I visit through her Safari browser.

Anything else I can do to investigate further? (thanks for your help!)

is it only on her computer that you can see the problem? Or can you replicate it on other machines?

I was able to duplicate the problem on my computer once–I navigated directly to stringloveguitar.com/store and the old page appeared.

But when I navigated through the nav menu to that Store page from a different page, I arrived at the updated version and haven’t been able to get to the old version since on my computer. That exploration all occurred this morning on my machine.

I don’t have any other computers to test with at the moment…I’ll be someplace tomorrow where I can do some testing on a PC.
