About a month ago I stopped receiving any notifications from my site. I have not been able to figure anything out and nothing else has changed.
I also stopped receiving comment notifications a few days ago. This happened out of the blue – I hadn’t changed any of my settings and I still have the tick box checked for emails to be sent.
I just contacted my web server and they confirmed that they stopped receiving emails from WordPress a few days ago, which means that the problem is with WordPress and not the server.
There seems to be countless posts on this problem but no real solution? I don’t particularly want to install a plug-in to fix the problem. If anyone knows why this problem has occurred and how to resolve it, please let me know!
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I am not receiving any mail notification of new comments, Although email a new comment posted to the site box is checked in Options > Discussion. Meantime I am getting mail notification for a comment held for moderation.Tried all the troubleshooting available , but nothing works :(.
