• I am working on a set of of new plug-ins that I plan to release to the community. As art of the project, I am planning a MVC-style library/template I am working on. The idea is to provide a simple RAD-style development kit for more complex plugins. I looked around and never found anything like this.

With this in mind, I’d appreciate community feedback. A couple of questions:

    1) Does this idea have merit? Is it something folks would actually use?

    2) I am happy to dev and release 0.1. I am doing it for a client now anyway. Is anyone else interested in this sort of thing and interested in contributing.

    3) As a starting point, have a look at the CRUD function I’ve written. You can see it at the pastebin link below. It is currently tested and working.

    PASTEBIN: http://pastebin.com/600662

My concern is that I am reinventing the wheel a bit. If I am, feel free to tear the idea up. I have big sholders and I want it to be useful, not just to me, but to everyone.

    Thanks,

    Doug (apakuni)

  • I think this is a good idea. you should go ahead and build this, if you cannot find a spot in the core wordpress development team.

wordpress developers are also working on making it more friendly to the developers who want to write plugins.
learn more about it in Ryan’s blog at http://boren.nu

may be you can join their team and help them too.

if you cannot join them, you go ahead and start on your own, eventually it will be useful to the community.

Oh waw, i actually was thinking that i’m the only one with this idea. 🙂 please check my blog mozey.wordpress.com

    Especially mvcPress category.
