How can I back up my database

    I’m brand new to wordpress and definately in the learning mode. The other day I published my website and somehow the blog got overwritten and disappeared. Thank god my host had it saved.

    The person helping me said there was a way to back up the blog or export it so if anything happened I could retrieve it.

    My host told me how to find the export and I saved everything but how do I save all the formatting in case I mess up again and it all disappears and I need to restore it. I’ve looked on the dashboard and on the menu and can’t find anything there allowing me to back up.

    If there is a way to back up then if something happens how would I recover it?

    Sorry if this all sounds basic but I am a total newbie at this stuff
