  • I think it’s always been like that. You seem to have introduced some markup errors into your pages.

    Hi Esmi,

Thanks for your intervention and I’ll bookmark your code browsing W9 site.

I can assure you it most certainly wasn’t always like that! I never continue onto another page until I’m happy with the layout.

However….I do come from a more traditional HTML background [using CuteHTML Pro6] and have noted that when I cut and paste such coding into WP it can be okay/accepted one minute and then mysteriously ‘change’ the next.

EX: I’m not used to using <span> for example. Should I do a WP cross-over coding course perhaps? Any ideas?

However, as you can see, the same “markup errors” have produced some good and some bad pages!

    Thanks,

    B.

If you are using markup in your posts, use the HTML & stick to it. Switching between the editing tabs will wreck your markup.

Yes, I am glad you mentioned this point, because I had noticed it and thought it was just me!

Some feedback on your “markup errors” – I have gone through the list and almost none of the errors highlighted by that site are true. Much of it seems to revolve around shortcodes used in the theme.

I got the theme developer to look at the matter and they were unable to give a reason for the problem, which is really bizare: if I erase the bad coding/text at the page bottom, and replace it with good text/coding from The Regordane product page, it does not resolve the problem! The good text becomes bad!?

The space at the bottom of the page seems to have become ‘corrupted.’

Inevitably I’m getting concerned at this stage…

    …and….

If I open a new post, cut n paste the good top content from Walking Cevennes by Rail, and then add the good bottom [six column stuff] from The Regordane product page, it still does not resolve the problem! The good text still becomes bad and the new post is corrupted !
