  • this is part of the sidebar, with a widget.

    We don’t want this.

to confirm: you don’t want a sidebar – at all ?

this would require a major editing of your theme; starting with creating a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes; then removing the call of the sidebar from all templates; changing the css to adapt to the new layout …

Grief. I may have to look into this. Not sure what the differences between editing a theme and creating a child theme. The child theme would be part of the main theme.

    Hi This is Odd.
We have three links and have the Visible set to yes. There seems to be no way of setting this to No.

Also if it requires major surgery to edit the theme could this be set to invisible instead?

Themes should not be edited…. especially themes that come with WP, but good practice is to never edit a theme

Themes need updated. For security reasons, to add new features, bug fixes, etc. Regardless of the reason, themes will need updated.

When the theme is updated, if you have edited it, the files are replaced, and all your changes are lost.

A child theme is a way to build a simple theme, which calls to another theme. You can then safely make edits in the child theme, and they will be safe

http://vudu.me/child is a writeup I did a while back, which provides some info to go along with the link @alchymyth provided
