    Okay…

So I have a lady whose site I’m building – and she has a “Shop” link in the nav menu in the top. I have the menu set up through Menus, and it includes a Custom Link w/ a URL to her Etsy shop… Right now, if you click Shop, it goes straight to the Etsy shop leaving the site behind…. What we’d like is to be able to open the Etsy SHOP Link and have it open in a new tab / new window… And keep the site open… The rest of the pages in the site nav menu are obviously all other pages on the WP site.

any ideas on how to fix that? Is it even possible?

  • 1 – Go to /wp-admin/nav-menus.php and click on “Screen Options” (top right)
2 – Select “Link Target” when the screen options menu opens
3 – Open the menu item you want to open in a new window and select “New window or tab” from the Link Target dropdown.

    THANK YOU!!!!

That makes so much sense, although I’d never seen that “Screen Options” before… It makes sense that WP would make that as an option, I just didn’t know…

    Coolio, you rock. thank you!!!!
