A link to your site would be nice so we can see what’s happening.
My guess is that you’ve left in the <img>
tag, so the browser is leaving space for an image that never gets fetched. But without being able to look at your site, it’s hard to say.

The website, good idea. http://www.homebrewyourfirstbeer.com
So how do I edit the tag?
Hmm. The theme is table-based (ugh!). Looking at your home page, I can’t see what it is that you want to get rid of. Can you give us a clue?
You talk about three empty slots, but I can’t identify what you mean by that.

@peredur
Adventure Journal is most certainly NOT table-based.
@inscoe2000
You can use WordPress’s media library to delete your custom uploaded headers (or any other image you’ve uploaded). To get there, simply log in to your admin and click “Media”. I’m sure you can take it from there 🙂
There’s a browser warning in a tabled layout near the top of the home page. I guess peredur assumed it was theme-generated.
@esmi
Ah. Unfortunately, that bit was a necessary evil (damn you, IE6).
Ahhh I should have figured the media library.

Hopefully you enjoy giving obvious answers. Thanks so much. Problem solved.
