Automatic population of child categories based on parent categories

    Would like to see a feature of automatic population of child categories and sub sub child categories basis the selection of parent categories.

    For eg. parent categories are countries like

    USA
    UK
    India and so on

    So when I choose a parent category from widget, wordpress should automatically populate only corresponding cities under that country. For eg post selecting USA from parent drop down the child drop down should show cities like New York, California, Texas, etc. Same goes for other parent categories as well.

    Don’t know if there is any plugin available which does that. But I want this feature should be available in wordpress by default.

    I’m afraid I don’t understand what you want… What would you want to use this for?

    Which widget? And what do you mean by ‘choose’? Do you mean “check”, as in checking the category while writing a post? Or do you want dropdowns? (Example: http://www.csgnetwork.com/directcountrystatecitydrop.html)

    Hi Anaid … Thanks for the response… The example given in your link is exactly what I’m looking for. I want the drop down to be available in the main site and NOT while writing post.

    Let me know how I can get this done in wordpress?
