[Plugin: Ban Hammer] Spammers are not Ban-Hammered anymore with StopForumSpam

    Hi, really great plugin 🙂
    I was experiencing many spam posts in the last few months, so I decided to give it a try… ban hammer was incredibile!
    It found like… 1 thousand spammers 😀
    But, for an unknown reason it stopped working.
    Let me explain this: I said YES to Stopforumspam in the configuration panel. Saved.
    Then, I clicked on the “Ban Hammered” tab. It’s started showing spammers 😆
    It was keeping showing spammer after spammer… so I decided to delete some of them, even if ban hammer was not finish.

    I deleted those users.
    I went back to “Ban Hammered” for more 😀
    But it’s not loading spammers anymore… I don’t know why 🙁
    Can you help me?

    Turn off the plugin and turn it back on. Or just the stop forum spam one, and turn that back on.

    There is a problem, that it’s got to go through your WHOLE db of users, and if you have a metric tonne of users, that could take a while :/

    Though I would say if you DO NOT need open registration, turn that off right now.

    I have same problem.
    I have got over 20k spammers.
    Unfortunately your advice didn’t help.

    The plugin works for me. Please make a new topic for yourself, though, and explain what error you’re getting.

    If you have 20k spammers, yeah, your server’s gonna hang like hell trying to run the stopformspam check.

    It was exactly like written above, word for word:

    Is it possible somehow limit the number of requests to the stopforumspam at a time?

    You need to make your OWN topic when that happens 🙂

    And yes, it’s possible to limit the user check, but I’m more likely to just remove it entirely and rely on WP these days, as the SFS check was always a day late and a dollar short (I.e. it’s better for figuring it out retroactively than stopping, and as the plugin was for stopping….)
