[CODEX] how to add more functions to {{Category Tags}}

Well the title says it 🙂

If you visit the_category() page you will notice that to show the functions that are related to this function, we use {{Category Tags}}

my question is; how to append new functions to this {{Category Tags}}, for example get_category_by_slug(); ?

This is not related to WordPress itself but to the codex, so apologies on posting on wrong forum 😉
