HTML home page

    I have a customer that want and html page as the “homepage” on their content managed/blog/wordpress website. No problem – but when I do that the blog page and the site search no longer work properly.

    I heard there is a plugin for this?

    OK, I know this question has been answered here before but the post was closed when resolves I could not ask a question about the solution so am asking again.

    if by HTML you mean static, that is easily fixed by creating the page then in Settings -> Reading you change the top option from Posts to Static Page.

    It is also good practice to create a new page for blogs as well…

    If by an actual HTML page you may need to move your WP install to a sub directory or mess about with CNAMES. There is a wealth of knowledge in the codex on both issues.
