I have been adding Google’s new authorship markup to my site and managed to get verified. However, I had to remove the author name from my post bylines as these link to author archives and was confusing Google.

This got me thinking: is there a way to make the links in the byline point to a specific page? I have a multi-author blog and each author has a profile page – I would like their byline name to point to this (with a rel=author) instead of the author archive.

Also, is it possible for the category link in the byline to point to a static page? The site is a review site and I have an archive of reviews from certain categories already set up (i.e book, film…) I would like a link in the byline to point to the “film” page instead of the film archive.

Hope this is clear, please ask if I can help further. The site is http://www.bullet-reviews.com if anyone needs to get acquainted to understand.
