Hi Joe Jord,
To confirm, you’re looking at “Reading” under “Settings” in the Dashboard?
I see options to show “latest posts”, or “a static page”. Which option do you have selected?
Latest post! And when I go to the site via typing in the web address it shows a post from December.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.
I’ve deactivated all plugins
Switched to Twenty Eleven theme
No change
I’m not sure how to reset the plugin folder.
I’ve changed the permalink back to default but get a 404 error message I’ve now switched it to custom /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ but the site is still opening on the old post.
On the default setting it is saying http://www.joejord.co.uk/blog/?p=123 is this correct?
I’m not sure how to reset the plugin folder.
See the link I gave above.
OK I’ll get onto my service provider. I’m in the UK so it will probably be a while till they get back to me!
It seems to be working now – many thanks.
I think firefox and it’s catch is part of the problem!
