Subcategory Bug in Mingus 1.2

I’m using subcategories in my blog at http://www.holycow.com/joe/
If a parent category is empty, the list of categories in the menu won’t display a link to that category, or to its children. I believe this behaviour started with the final 1.2 release, as I don’t recall it happening in the 1.2RCs.
The workaround is to set one of the child categories to be in both the child and parent, causing links for all related categories will appear in the menu.
