theme suggestions

    All:

    it has been a while since i last posted here. i am in the process of recreating a multisite network, and am seeking feedback regarding ‘good’ master themes for my homepage…

    I am looking for something that will allow me to do the following:
    1) have the home page include a section for news feed
    2) allow to set up a ‘new blog posting’ for the entirety of the network (sitewide tags plugin)
    3) allow to set featured blogs, that will update based on defined blogs that i ‘choose’

    i have looked at arras, and have seen other ‘magazine type’ themes, but cannot seem to remember the names of decent themes.

    Any widget area will do. And then a category specific widget.

    2) allow to set up a ‘new blog posting’ for the entirety of the network (sitewide tags plugin)

    Ether the content area or a widget showing most recent posts.

    3) allow to set featured blogs, that will update based on defined blogs that i ‘choose’

    This is a plugin.

    You will not find any of this in a theme because a theme should not handle it all. You just need a theme you like with lots of widget areas on the front.

    Or look at a few sites running multisite and view the source to see the theme they started with. Most bigger sites have custom ones, but again – mostly widget areas on the home page.
