• I’ve looked at my error logs and they are growing faster than I can blink. PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /home/name/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 339 is what most of the errors are, but it grows by a couple megs everyday.

    1) Turn off all your plugins.

    2) Reinstall WP manually

this seems to be an underlining design flaw with wordpress.

    That it uses memory?

There are so many variables that go into how much memory a site uses, it’s really hard to point a finger at just one thing or another.

I get this on one of my sitemap pages wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Cache/Memcached.php:75:Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1419818 bytes)

any ideas on this? I don’t want to turn off memcache or w3 total cache

I use both those plugins, but on a VPS. Are you sure memcache is set up on your server?

You may need to adjust the W3TC settings to work best with your server. It’s a really complex plugin.

ya im on dedicated server. im sure memcache is installed and running.

Start with fiddling with w3TC. Like I said, it’s complex, but in all likelihood, you need to tweak it for your server.

guys i had the same problem….the point at which i got this error
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 256 bytes) in /srv/disk6/xxxxx/www.xxxx.com/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1400” was when i changed the event manager plugin page and installed facebook connect to my login page…..was realy frustrated but at last when i deactivated the facebook connect plugin every thing fine…:):)

Okay, get this. Yoast found a bug in his code, and the new version of WordPress SEO will fix it.

(venu-prasath – If you’re ALSO using that plugin, see my comment. IF NOT, make a new topic for yourself as it’s not the same problem.)
