  • Hi Guys,

I wonder if you could help me and this question might be actually seem ‘nooby’ but i run a vbulletin forum and was hoping to have a wordpress front end to it. Anyway, ive uploaded all wordpress files to the server and after putting in the database details in the wordpress install script it fails to contact the database with a successful connection to it.

Im using the same database as the vbulletin forum so will this have a effect to it? Does wordpress require a seperate own database to run?

I appreciate there might be an easy answer to it and i apologise if there is but ive tried most things and still no joy.

    Anyway help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Yes, WordPress will require its own database. Just create a new database for your WordPress, and connect the installation to the new database instead of to the vbulletin forum database. Then you should be all set.

No. Double check your database connection credentials.
