• Hi there, if I’ve missed this question elsewhere please point me to it! I didn’t see one that was similar so I’ll post here.

    I’m looking for a way with Breadcrumb NavXT to get the “Menu Label” to appear in the breadcrumb trail instead of the page “Title”. Is this possible? That would give more flexibility to the page titles while having a shorter crumb trail.

    I did find on the Posts & Pages settings tab > Page Anchor – The anchor template for page breadcrumbs…

    <a title="Go to %title%." href="%link%">

    If there’s a substitute for the title attribute that will accomplish what I’m looking for, it escapes me so far…

    Thanks for reading!

    Nope, the WordPress 3.0 menu, its titles, and its structure are not representative of the actual hierarchy of the site. There have been similar requests regarding a rather popular SEO plugin, which I am, at some point in the future, going to create a supplicant plugin that reads different titles based off of things in the SEO plugin. However, I haven’t had time to write that yet since I have other projects that have been eating up all of my free time.

    Thanks for the answer! To those who are developing sites that have shorter menu items than page titles, it’ll be a handy and welcome update when you get around to it.

    I understand having free time eaten up, however… so good luck!
