• Hi,

I’m using WP through my yahoo account for my webstie http://www.stuff4thbeach.com I’m having trouble with images to my posts. My first two images to my first post created thumbnails and in the post they open up to larger images when clicked. However, when I tried to add more images they just stayed in the thumbnail size and could not be clicked on to open up the full size image.

Is there anyone out there who uses WP attached from yahoo hosting that can help me with this. When I’m in the edit section of the post the images are uploaded and all I need to do is drag and drop. There is a box that pops up when I click the image giving different options, but I just can’t figure out how to get the image to be “clickable” after the first two are on the post.

I’ve read the image section on WP and it is not very helpful and doesn’t decribe how I can do this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Lance

  • You click on the image in its browse box. A menu will appear over the image. The image will say ‘using thumbnail’ and ‘not linked’ by default. click ‘not linked’ so it changes to ‘linked to image’.

    Hi,

this also regards posting images, but has also a different angle:

Firstly – is there a way to ensure that the default setting of an uploaded image (when one drags it into the post) is “full image, unlinked”? Currently the default is “unlinked, thumbnail”.

Secondly – the wysiwyg editor seems to have problems with positioning images and treaten text around, below it. E.g. a return after a centered image (which nearly in any other kind of editing software results in placing the text after the image, untouched by its formatting) often results in text vanishing underneath the image, being incorrectly centered, jumping above the image or whatever other curious behaviour it wants to express on a specific post page. There’s little to no control over what gets displayed how.

I have to turn over the blog to a person not knowing a lot about HTML (and nothing of CSS) and he will certainly not be able to get this to work just the way he wants it to work.

Are there other wysiwyg editors for WP? And if not, is there an alternative to picture manipulation if the tinyMCE is switched off?

    Thanks thugparlay.

I tried it and I figured out that you can’t drag it after that. You have to click “Send to Editor” after clicking “link to image”. This puts it into the post and you can drag it to where you wish.

I know most people would know this, but being a novice to blogs I figured I’d put that piece in, in case there are others like me that need to be told everything.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks,
    Lance
