   I download email_notification and installed with my other plugins but can't access it so I am looking at subscribe2 now. I just want people to have access to sign up for email notifications when i post.

   I wish someone would write instructions that are for the novice not the expert. I downloaded email notification and the install is so complicated..put these files here and then these ones there..argh..then language I don't uderstand but I am trying to learn.

   Then subscribe 2. easy install, did everything asked and nothing is working. I even emailed the guy..still no answer. I created a page called subscribe.php. put a link on my front page and it takes me to this:

   I am having the same problem with "contact" plugin.
   I read all about creating pages but I still feel I have to wing it with what little I know. I find the directions in wordpress a little daunting. sigh..I guess all these programs are only designed for people who are IT specialists or have taught themselves the language of php's and codex. Cripes I probably got that wrong too.
   Does anyone know of a program for people to subscribe and fill forms to get updated in their emails? Can I use an email program not designed for WP?
   Sorry to sound ornery guys but i have a bad neck and this is killing me but I can't stop...help...lol

   Ok, never mind all, think I should do the sensible thing and go to "wordpress for beginners" and just learn css and all that. guess I just wanted the lazy way out. Iwas so used to just copying and pasting dhtml to use with my knowledge of html that I figured this would be sort of like that..I am a poop. L

   I've tried that one, as well as update notify and another and never been able to get them to work. I just send out a note to a group in outlook with a link now.

   But it doesn't say it works with current install of wordpress and appears not to have been updated for a while.

   Subscribe2, but again it is talking about wp v 1.5+

   Aha, that says under new management and brings me here:
   Subscribe2 Plugin v2.8, dated with in the last week.

   It doesn't say anything about compatibility with any particular version of WP, but I assume it includes the current version??

   Have I arrived? Is there something better out there?

   One big negative to the subcribe2 is that apparently if you batch process emails, you get a copy of each and every one of the batches. Interesting that they are processing in that fashion.

   There's something called WP Campaign Monitor for managing newsletter subscriptions, but I've no experience with it.
