Hi,

When a comment is posted to a page (where users are properly subscribed) using Postie (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/postie) no notification is sent.

If the comment is instead submitted using regular web form, notification works as usual. This happens on a site with only three plugins: postie, subscribe to comments reloaded, and subscribe2. (notifications from subscribe2 do work though).

PS: Postie allows posting and commenting using email messages.

Subscribe to Comments Reloaded relies on WordPress’ default hooks and actions to perform its actions. It seems to me that Postie doesn’t trigger them properly, thus not invoking StCR as it should.

I quickly inspected Postie’s source code and I saw the author is using

wp_insert_comment

instead of wp_new_comment

You may want to talk to him to see if he can fix this problem.

How did you get the comment by reply email to work in the first place? There seems to be a few people that are having trouble getting this to work. Maybe it’s a conflict with the latest WP?
