theme install

    just uploaded an un-zipped copy of my theme to public_html/wp_content/themes folder via FTP. when i log in to the WP
    dashboard and click on appearance/themes the only listed themes are 2010 and 2011?

    waited, refreshed and tried again with same result…. it just does not realize the theme is there!

    soulutions?????

    a premium paid theme but the developer site is down [permanently?] and i must assume i am on my own. the theme is supposed to be supported on
    the version of WP i use [v321]

    Make sure the style.css file uploaded ok.

    If that makes no difference try uploading the theme as a zip and unzipping on the server. If you have cpanel you can do this via file manager.

    If still stuck you can mail me the theme and I can try install on one of our test blogs.

    css apparently alright but I replaced it to be sure it was a good file.

    I uploaded my theme zip/rar via file manager through my c-panel and extracted the theme into the public_html/wp-content/themes folder.

    Signed in to my site via wordpress login and checked themes but it was not listed.

    I will try just any free theme from wordpress.org which specifically supports WP v321 to upload and see what result I get?

    If you could try it on a test blog that would be great… just let me know how to get the zip/rar archive file to you… it is a 3.55 MB archive.

    Starting to think it is either a voodoo curse or my hosting provider may not be quite “up to snuff”. [Hostable.com]

    Uploading & activating themes are super simple but I guess something could go wrong with anything.

    Uploaded via FTP the following themes to my public_html/wp-content/themes folder: LightWord for v2.9+ – zBench for v3+ – Sonne for v3.1+ and PressWork for v3.2.

    None of these themes became available to activate…..

    Got a free software archiver called 7 Zip and zipped my theme and uploaded after which I could activate/install with no problem.

    Perhaps the method I originally used is in some way wrong?

    Anyway, wanted to thank you for the help! All should be good for the time being but looking forward to WP Multisite on another host soon.
