• This is not strictly a WordPress question, but I hope an expert here might know.

I’ve paid a lot of attention to SEO, and my blog ranked #4 on the first page of Google’s search results for about two months. Then, it suddenly disappeared. I don’t mean it slipped to the second or third page. I mean it wasn’t in the first ten. I added a new post and pinged, and the next day I was back on the first page. This lasted two weeks. Now, I’ve disappeared again. I added three posts and pinged without results.

Google recently raised my Page Rank from 2 to 3.

I haven’t done anything spammy or improper, so far as I know.

Can anyone suggest a reason, or tell me what I should do?

    Help much appreciated.

I didn’t pay some SEOer. I said I’ve paid a lot of attention to SEO. No tricks. Just a long link-building campaign.

oh, that is it. I think you should not worried about it, because Google made a lot changes on PR, no only the time gap but also the value. So what you need to do is some High-quality updates article.

SEO is complex, and google is a fickle mistress. Most likely you’ve done nothing technically wrong, Google has just changed the weight of the various aspects that were causing your page to rank well.

Your best bet is just to keep working on putting out great content, and building attention for your site – That’s what google wants to see, and what they’ll reward.
