• Hi, I’ve been hearing a lot about blogs which “ping” a list of other websites every time they are updated. How can I get Word Press to do this? (I am signed up through Yahoo Small Business.)

    That’s the page.

There’s a lot of “info” there.

I have this in my Update Services box and it all works just fine: http://pingoat.com/goat/RPC2

My following question to this (I think I understand how to ping, both with som kind of tool and manually) but how can I retreive a ping? The thing is, I’ve got a domain with several subdomains, each one with it’s on blog. The front page of the head domain is a kind of portal for the others, with a news blog. It would be very nice if I could receive pings there for notifications of recently updated blogs of the subdomains. (I guess many online blogger communities does the same thing, but this is in much smaller scale of course.) My first thought was to get the information of newest updates directly from the database, but if not for any other reason, it’s much more fun to learn new things, and this ping thing is new for me! 🙂
