• I’ve been wanting a pricing grid for my wordpress site, however I’ve reached a crossroads. The geek in me says to use DIV elements to keep up with the “table-less” styles of today, but the conservative in me says use tables…

So here’s my question to the wordpress community. Which would you use for a pricing grid, tables or divs, and why?

There is nothing wrong with using tables, especially when you’re trying to show things that should be in… table format.

There’s a lot of anti-table people on there, but most of them are speaking in regards to page layouts.

You may want to check out jQuery Data Tables too – could save you a lot of time especially if you’re displaying large amounts of data.

by pricing grid… simply what it sounds like? A grid of prices?

If so, that certainly sounds like a table, which is what tables are for.

If the grid is containing images, content, etc, then that is more of a layout thing, and should be divs.

Basically for control of layout, I always say divs.

For display of truly tabular data, then that’s what tables are for!
