Support » Fixing WordPress » Static home page not using index.php styles

  • I am setting up a site that has a static homepage (and no actual blog for now).

I named 2 wrappers (#wrapper and #wrapper_page) so that I could have one wrapper background applied to the home page and another on all of the inside pages bu using #wrapper in the index.php and #wrapper_page in the page.php and fullwidth.php templates.

This worked fine until I realized I hadn’t set up a home page as a static page (it was still showing the post entry “You don’t have any posts yet.”). After I did that, the wrapper style for page and fullwidth templates shows on the home static page, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out what to do, other than go back to the first way I had it and just “style” away the post with a display:none on the class. But when I want to add an actual blog, I will run into trouble again.

Here’s the link to the “old” way–without a static home page. This is how I want it to look–no background in the wrapper on home page, translucent wrapper within pages.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
