• I mistakenly changed my WordPress address under general options.

Both the WordPress and site address were originally:

    http://www.westernegg.com/eggblog

Now, when I go in to try and change this back, first I link to the new erroneous address (eggblog.wordpress.com). When I go to the options url and change the name, I am informed I need to enable sending referrers to do this. However, I’ve already done this.

    Please, any help?

  • This page should help if you have phpmyadmin on the server:
    http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

And… errrmmm… what to do if I don’t have access to PHPmyAdmin? (my administrator is out of town)

    Any guesses/insight are most welcome.

You might need to download the phpMyAdmin itself, and then upload that to your server, if you have the FTP software that is…then have the “database” connections setup in the phpMyAdmin config file and such.. then access your database on your own url like:

westernegg.com/phpMyAdmin <- but rename it something else so no one else can see it, well that’s what I do sometimes if I’m really desperate..

    spencerp

That’s just a temporary way only though, until your host comes back..

Grazie mille. My freakout was premature; said administrator graciously checked his email and set me up. Allll fixed, thanks to the tutorial… ~whew~
