I like it. It’s so simple that that’s why i like it. It’s a information site so don’t go too crazy on it. Simplicity is sometimes the best thing (take craigslist for example).
Five suggestions:
Make the page wider. it’s 760px wide now, make it around 860 or even 900.
I like the white background but give your middle a little off white color. Just to have some contrast between the background and the text area.
Your logo doesn’t stand out, it blends in withe the white background. Make it bigger and more vivid.
Those little bubbles that come down from the top are kind of cheesy, they belong to a diary website of a 14 year old girl not a town information website.

Much much better. Here are a few more. Your font size is 1.1em make it 11 or 12pt.
Make that light grey background one shade darker.
Your logo is still too small (if you did ever change it), also make the logo background transparent and trim it to the canvas.

The site looks great. I like the justified text as well. You logo needs a little more contrast, make it a tad bit darker. It also shows a border around it in IE, look into that.
Are you using a plugin for the slide out contact form on your personal site?
