Hi Petroica,
It looks like the options to Enable Arrows and Enable Controls have been disabled.
I’ll take a look at the sizing issues in WebKit and let you know what I find out.
Thanks for using the plugin!
-Jacob
Hi Jacob! I was hoping you would come to my rescue. π
Silly me. I now set Build Arrows, Build Navigation, Build Start/Stop, Toggle Arrows, Enable Arrows, Enable Navigation, Enable Start/Stop all to yes, and the arrows and navigation boxes now work, but I still can’t seem to get autoplay working.
I have Auto Play, Auto Play Locked set to yes, with the rest of the slideshow options set to no. What am I missing?
Thanks for this plugin (and your help)! I love the AnythingSlider.
Edit: Here’s a screenshot of the weird dimensions thing. http://i51.tinypic.com/nqcwlx.png This is the same URL in Safari 5.0.5. Sometimes it loads fine, and sometimes it loads like this (without me changing anything). This happens in Chrome as well. Perhaps it’s something weird on my end, but I can’t imagine what.
What happens if you set the resizeContents to true? Or the Expand option to true?
-J
I set resize to true and haven’t seen the weird dimension problem since. Will let you know if I do see it again. (It was happening very randomly.)
Any idea why my autoplay isn’t working? Some other setting that’s overriding ‘Auto Play: yes’?
Glad you got those pieces working. Now for the autoPlay…
@mottie might have an idea, as he’s a core developer of the jQuery plugin. Any thoughts, Mottie?
I’ll have a look also and will report back soon!
We figured out what the error is. We’ll fix it and update the plugin asap. In the meantime, you can set the resumeOnVideoEnd
option to true, and the slideshow should play.
Woohoo! Very glad to see autoplay working. Thanks!
There is one other issue I’ve run into. In IE8, my arrows on the slideshow at http://www.robinbijlani.com/awcfdev/ are getting cut off. Only their bottom half is shown.
I did replace the arrows, but I made new arrows placed in the same position as the image sprites of the original. I changed div.anythingSlider .arrow
and div.anythingSlider-minimalist-square .arrow
to top: 170px;
, as well as removing the .back a.hover
and .forward a.hover
css bits, but they still got cut off before I made these edits.
I think it might have to do with IE8’s handling of absolutely positioned elements.
Trying to get to your demo site, but am getting a page cannot be displayed error… I’ll check again in a couple hours. Glad we’ve just about got it working!
Arg, stupid host! DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com agreed that it was down, but says it’s now up again. Sorry about that.
I’ll have a look and let you know what I find out. Might have to wait till tomorrow am, though.

No rush. π I think I had the same issue with the non-WP version in the past, so maybe Mottie might have some input.
I’m seeing the entire arrows in IE8 on Windows 7.
Interesting. I’m on Win7 and in IE 8.0.7601.17514 I’m not seeing the arrows on the WP plugin or the non-WP plugin ( http://www.robinbijlani.com/lfrc/ , for example) .
weird. that works for me too, although their nav is broken…
In the middle of tinkering with that site. π
Very strange about the arrows, though. I can’t make sense of it.
