• I’m guessing this is the proper area to post this considering my previous posting is blocked from replies and I don’t know why? The previous posting also says Anonymous posted it when I’m logged into my account here in this WP forum.

This is an error after the WP site has been up and running for 2 weeks now. I have multiple sites running on WP for years and this is the first time running into a weird error.

The error is: There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file.

I have re-uploaded this file that has always been located one level up from the WP main directory. The WP is in the public_html folder and the config file is in the root directory.

When I click on the Create a Config File Button I read:

The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists one level above your WordPress installation. How does this say that the file is found, then it says the file isn’t found?

I have also re-uploaded the php.ini and .htaccess files.

I did find one Fix though. I moved the config file in the public_html directory and the site is working fine. Ever since the change of WP by moving the config file one level up, its always found it automatically.

Now I’m wondering if I need to alter the php.ini file or delete a certain plugin?

Why has the site been working fine and now this?

Any ideas on a hack or do I need to list the plugins?

Do I need a hack in the setting.php file?

Thank you kindly for your support,

    BB 🙂

I’m working on the borked anon stuff. If it happens, just be patient. If you keep posting, it flags you as a spammer, as I have learned 😉

The error is: There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file.

I’m assuming you’re looking in the main public_html folder? Look one folder UP (that it at the same level as the public_html folder). WP can run if you have it there as well.
