• Some time ago, for reasons unknown to my common sense, I added ‘.html’ to the end of my custom permalink structure.

I’ve recently started using Google Webmaster Tools, which has been useful in helping me identify issues with my site. I’ve noticed that I’m getting a lot of 404s (over 300 of them, in fact) for /trackback and /feed attempts, as WordPress is sticking them on the end of the page URL in an attempt to display trackbacks and the page’s RSS feed, which results in something like this: http://website.com/webpage.html/trackback!

What’s the best way of dealing with this?
