Clearer update notification

This is more of a problem for network sites, the updates notification isn’t visible unless you bring up your profile drop down or use the menu bar, in some cases it’s not possible to use the admin menu bar at the top. Having updates as a part of network (1) isn’t intuitive at all. Which is a shame as the new update process is far more robust and reliable with less failed attempts to get it to update.

Can we address this to make what is, what I’d assume, a critical aspect of usability and security? Or if I’m missing something tell me?

Overall I’m impressed with 3.2 but this is one of my pet hates about it just now. I manage a lot of sites, and don’t want to add more work that necessary, I prefer the concept of glance-ability .
