[Plugin: WP Minify] Strange line breaking with xhtml

When I use WP-Minify to compress my xhtml pages, I get line breaks in strange places. It seems to always create a line break before the slash on br elements, like so

</div></div>

It also breaks before attributes in tags, like so:

name="contact" class="gone"> <div
class="flex"><div
id="second" class="third"><h3>Contact</h3><div
class="textwidget">


Why is this happening? Is it an XHTML-related problem?
