Can you be more clear about what your problem is? Your title references being unable to find \wp-content
, but your OP references a problem with a function.
sorry my engl. is not good. what is “OP references”? i am admin and use wp since 2006.
i wanted to udate automatic and the message afte all “Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)”
“OP” = “original post”.
You’re trying to update WordPress automatically, or you’re trying to update a Theme/Plugin?
Here’s one potential fix.
i am trying to update a plugin nothing more
i use cyberduck & textwrangler…
No; it’s a server configuration issue.
ok i follow your advise and get a blank page with nothing on it if a go to the admin page of my blog http://www.drmotte.de/wordpress
What error is output?
You may need to set:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
in wp-config.php
in order to see the error message.
wow. i get a lot of warning now…
i wonder why all this. i was installing allways the latest version of wp
i uploaded wp-config.php new from wp3.2 put all my data in it wich is required is running.
i start the plugin update prozess an get this message:
“The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.
Enabling Maintenance mode…
All updates have been completed.”
plug is still not updated!
now what now?
I think you’re better off using the official WordPress constants to fix the “Unable to locate WordPress Content directory” problem. See the documentation here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#WordPress_Upgrade_Constants
These two lines fixed the problem for me, but you can try some of the other settings to see if they help you:
define('FS_METHOD', 'ftpsockets');
define('FTP_BASE', '/public/www/');
