• I’ve made everything and saved it to my local host, ready to push to my domain, but the WordPress import plugin is not working.. I’ve deactivated it, uninstalled/reinstalled it, nothing seems to get it to work. The WordPress import page under tools comes up blank with no area to select my xml file to upload..

  • You can upload all your wordpress files and folder and then export your database tables from local install and import on online database.

I know I can, but how? The WordPress importer plugin is not working on my dashboard..

If you have imported the database you do not need import using importer as your all your settings and posts should have been imported when you import database.

I don’t know what that means.. Where/how do I do that?

Your database is in PhpMyAdmin on both local install and online install

I remember setting that up, but had help. Must not have done it right, because its didn’t pull everything from the local host & its not letting me upload the files after the fact..

I don’t know enough to upload or modify anything by myself

The importer won’t work going from localhost to a live server because the live server doesn’t know that localhost is your computer. Instead, FTP all of the files and use PHPMyAdmin to export and import the database.

Check out http://www.newnine.com/blog/112-move-wordpress-to-new-server to see how to make the changes.
