How do we enable them?
I’ve tried coping the sidebar.php file from the Twenty Ten 1.2 theme into my own theme with no luck.

yes I tried this, and I still don’t get the dynamic sidebar in the admin area (back end) where you can drag and drop.

looking at the theme layout I see a sidebar-footer file.

Did you register the widget area/sidebar in functions.php?

I don’t have a functions.php file in my theme yet.. oops.
will look into it thanks

PS: wordpress theme creation is harder, a lot harder than joomla and elxis cms which I’ve been using
