• Hi there,

I have created a couple of pages each corresponding to a year: 2011, 2010, 2009…

they each have a customized templates to display posts from categories 2011, 2010…

my issue is the page slug would always have a -2 added to it

    and 2011-2 is pretty ugly

I first thought I had duplicates and deleted my trash but no

my guess is it conflicts with the archive.php maybe ? cause even if I rename the slug of the category 2011 it wont change a thing, still a -2 page permalink

though I can create a post with a 2011 slug with no issue, so I don’t get why i can’t do the same with a page

so what sould I do to have a site.com/2011 page ?

please help! I really need assistance here…

    thanks !!!

That would conflict with the date based archives, yes. The URL for a category would be /category/2011 and not /2011 (which would be ‘all posts in 2001’).

You really don’t want to mess with the category slug, too, it has weird repercussions.
