I know this subject has been dealt with several times, but the previous posts has me confused.

I have so far found 4 different footnote/reference plugins.

    1. Simon: http://www.elvery.net/drzax/2005/07/29/new-wordpress-plugin-footnotes/
    2. http://www.rochuswolff.de/weblog/archiv/2005/11/08/01.03.05/
    3. Movabletribe: http://movabletripe.com/archive/references-plugin
    4. Alex Kin: http://www.alexking.org/blog/2004/11/28/footnotes/

    My questions are:
I case you have tried more than one: Which one do you prefer?
Are any of them embeded in WYSIWYG?

(Since Im completely new to this, I'd rather not mess with the code, but just relay on the plug)

I tried Simon's and Owen's (RedAlt). Personally, I like Simon's better - mostly bc of the link style and the simplicity of use.

    Yes.
Im using Simons, its so simple it doesnt have to be intergrated into the editor.

I use Simon's and am very happy with it. Unfortunately, it does not work well with many of my other plug-ins. For example, the e-mail and print plugs from Lester Chan and the subscribe2 plugin. The mark-up is not read by these other plugs, but I'm guessing this is a problem with the other footnote plughins as well.
