• Hey. I recently installed wordpress on a friend’s website and she tried importing all her blogposts from blogspot. Not all of them imported properly, so then we deleted all the posts. However, the comments are still there in the dashboard, and there are no checkboxes next to them so I have no idea how to delete them. The site is hosted on dreamhost. Please help. Thank you!

Also, sorry, its wp 3.1.2 not 3.1.1. Thank you.

This page (once you’re logged in as an administrator)
    /wp-admin/edit-comments.php

usually shows a checkbox next to each comment for me.

If not, I guess you may have to clear the database table directly (wp_comments table I believe – I would check with the codex bu the codex site seems down at the moment)

    HTH

I’m having almost the same trouble, not being able to delete comments. I’m logged in, get into the edit comments area, see the checkbox next to the comment. But I can’t click on the checkbox, and when I try to mark the comment as spam (or delete it) directly from the link in the email notification, I’m told I don’t have permission to delete the comment (The heck I don’t, I own the blog!) Any ideas?

I’m having the same problem and I need to go directly to the db to do anything with the comments. Here is a screenshot of my Edit Comments page. See, no checkboxes and no choices for actions.
