• I have a small problem with the Admin Bar in that, although the css link shows up in the head of each page the bar does not. all the links show up but in an unformatted list at the bottom left of the page.
Anyone have any suggestions, other than total removal, on what to do or what may be missing to make it do that.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure that will help unless your logged in but the url is http://www.creavision.ca

    Thanks for looking in.

The admin bar in the dashboard that shows the user, Add, New, Comments, Appearance?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Have tried the first two suggestions but neither worked and not sure how to do the reset of the plugin folder. Perhaps you can advise.

    Thanks

Delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. DO NOT delete the wp-content folder.

Download a fresh copy of wp and upload the wp-admin and wp-includes folders to your host. Don’t copy over, make sure you delete and upload new files.

99.9% of the time problems in the dashboard are caused by javascript errors/conflicts or incomplete upgrades/corrupted files.

I’m having the same issue as Digitalone, and none of the suggestions have helped. The Admin Bar is not showing up when viewing any of the public pages on my site. It does, however, show up on the Admin pages (I have the box checked for it to show up in my Profile).

Try switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

As I stated, none of the suggestions have helped. This includes switching themes. All that did was create additional headaches for me to deal with.

Perhaps but it would help if we could see the site using Twenty Ten.

The Admin Bar is not showing up when viewing any of the public pages on my site.

Please explain, what is a public page? The admin bar is displayed when a user is logged in and visiting the site. Are you going off-site to a link?

By “public pages,” I meant the non-admin pages.

At this point, however, it doesn’t matter anymore. Trying to fix the Admin Bar with the suggestions that had been posted earlier caused almost everything on my site to break. I’ve been wanting to ditch the theme I was using anyway, so decided to take this opportunity to rebuild the site from the ground up. And doing so has fixed the Admin Bar for now.

    Thanks anyway.
