query re commercial themes

    have just started a few months back with some wp Twenty Ten themed, niche websites, so very junior to this. I am looking at wp commercial themes and have a few questions.

    I. I would like to make my websites look more professional but retain my own header and color concepts, is this possible with commercial themes i.e.how flexible are they?

    2. Is the payment for the theme and support, a one off or an annual fee?

    3. How important is this to retaining traffic once it has gone to your site. personally, I tend to either stay on a site or not not just because of content but also how professional it looks.

    I have a marketing and info design background and notice these things, also why I want some control over how my commercial theme will look in terms of header and colour.

    Appreciate others thoughts on this.

    1. It’s possible with any theme. Just because you have to pay for a theme doesn’t make it superior to any of the themes found in http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

    2. Ask the theme vendors.

    3. That’s too subjective to answer.

    @esmi I understand the free themes can be modified but I am not techy enough yet to do what I want. I like some of the commercial themes too. I will ask the vendors and thanks. I guess question 3 is very subjective.
