• I’ve noticed that, despite the fact I set the UTC time offset in the config, the RSS feed for my entries from my 2.01 WP install do not match. They always show up as UTC time.

The only solution I seem to have found (and I’m not even really sure it’s working) is manually going into wp-rss2.php and changing the two +0000 entries in postDate to values appropriate for my time-zone. (In this case -6000)

    1) Is this the only option?
    2) If so, why do the RSS feeds not properly get their time-stamp from the configuration of the WordPress install?
    3) Is there likely to be a fix to this problem or will I need to maintain my own wp-rss2.php files as WordPress is upgraded?

    Thanks!

    Anyone?

I’d certainly love to know the answer to this one myself .. it’s driving me nuts ..

    Thanks in advance ..

Follow-up … editing the wp-rss2.php file doesn’t work .. at least not for me …

Anyone have a solution for this one? I have set my timezone so that posts on the blog itself are right, but the feed is showing the UTC time…

    Eureka!!!

Decided to take another crack at it .. in exploring around I discovered that the atom feed displayed the correct time while the rss2 feed did not .. so .. simple matter of opening the wp-atom.php file and copying the date format

    “Y-m-d\TH:i:s\Z”

    .. and replacing the

    “D, d M Y H:i:s +0000”

code in the two places it is found in the wp-rss2.php file ..

ta-daaaa! Perfect .. at least for me anyways.

Let me know if it works for y’all ..

Works great! Thanks for sharing this. I had posted a separate thread a while back looking for this and never got a response. I went looking tonight and found this thread.
