• Hello everyone,

I’m in the process of rebuilding my website to integrate my professional research website with my photography ( I’m sick of my Flash photo portfolio ) and I wanted to do this using a WordPress base. I’ve been looking around for themes that might suit, but there are so many, and most that I’ve seen have had a problem with them, that I thought I should ideally ask the community for their suggestions regarding which themes might suit my interests.

    – I don’t intend to use any blogging in my website, so want absolutely nothing in terms of comments, or “posted by”, etc.

    – The main website should be clean and elegant, with a menu bar either on the top or the left, containing things like “Home”, “Research”, “About”, “Portfolio”, “Contact”.

    – The Portfolio section should be broken down into categories such as “Macro”, “Landscape”, “Portraits”, etc. – a small number, currently at seven and certainly no more than ten.

    – I really don’t like slideshows or automated image switching on screen, I much prefer a clean layout of the image thumbnails PER CATEGORY, which can then be clicked on to be shown as close to full screen or full resolution as possible

    – An example that doesn’t quite fulfill the above criteria is the WPZoom Photoland theme : http://demo.wpzoom.com/?theme=photoland

I’d love any advice or suggestions you could send my way regarding themes ( or different setups entirely, perhaps non-WP-related ) that I should consider.

Thanks very much for your help !

    Quentin
