    Installation Failed

Tried reinstall with all plugs deactivated twice and got same error. Tried with IE and Firefox and got same error. Installed Hotfix from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/hotfix/ and got same error. Used Twenty Ten theme and got same error.

Now when I try to upload/insert an image into a post, I hit the ‘Add an image button’ and nothing happens. No pop up to browse for image. Adobe Flash Player is most recent version. I downloaded the zip of 3.1.3, unpacked it and manually installed the thickbox.js

Running WinXP with all latest fixes.

I need some help here folks. My site is a photoblog/portfolio/gallery and I can’t really use it as that without the ability to upload images.

Solved it marshalljohns. The key to the error is the “Permission denied in” part. It’s a problem with the files being ‘locked’ on your hosts server. The new installation can’t overwrite the old files so for some reason everything gets buggered.

Go to your WordPress install on your hosts server. Find the offensive file, in this case the thickbox.js. Right click on it and go to permissions. Make sure the permission is set to 777, that will basically ‘unlock’ it. Try the install again.

Got same problem, and resolve as seviien instructions. Thanks seviien!
