How to show an entry number of a number of entries?

I’m trying to find a plugin or a working tag that will show the entry number of a number of entries in a category.

For example; in category “Test” there are 30 entries. When on a selected entry within that category (let’s say, page “2”), I’d like to have displayed somewhere on the page, “2 of 30.”

This is done on binarybonsai.com at the bottom, next to the “archives” section in the right column.

Can someone point me in the right general direction? Greatly appreciate the help here …
