[Plugin: Tweet Import] Can new tags be created without the # sign?

I’ve been using this plugin for a couple days. It’s working great so far, but I have one minor issue. When it creates tags from hashtags, it’s including the # symbol in the tag name. Could we have the option to turn that off?
