584 Categories… Sub-Menus? Howto?

    Hi everyone, simple problem..

    I have 584 categories being sub-categories of 7 main categories (3-9).

    Actually the category templates (category-3.php – category-9.php) only work on the main pages, but not on the subpages of each category.. on those pages, the category.php is used instead.

    How can i make wordpress use the main category templates also on the subcategories?
